We depart Tucson and head towards the Spanish good life! We arrive in Malaga, Spain for a pre-night stay. Rest up from your travels and prepare to explore the southern coast of Spain.

Day 3 - Board the Scenic Eclipse

Today, we board the Scenic Eclipse and are welcomed to Spain’s famous Costa del Sol and the 3,000-year-old city of Malaga. Millions of visitors flock to the region each year for its namesake sunshine, rich history and artistic soul. The city is the birthplace of Pablo Picasso, and proudly pays homage to the virtuoso with a dedicated museum. Uncover gastronomic delights such as ‘tinto de verano’, a refreshing iced summer wine, and wander the streets filled with architectural delights from colorful baroque designs to historic Roman theatre. This afternoon, you’ll board your 6-star, ultra-luxury Discovery Yacht, Scenic Eclipse. With a maximum of just Cruise Cruise start/finish 1 Overnight stay Included flight 228 guests on board and a staff-to-guest ratio close to 1:1, this is personalized travel unlike any other. You will be shown to your stylish suite, where you can enjoy a drink on your private verandah and toast the start of this luxurious voyage.

Meals included: (B, D)

Day 4 - Gibraltar, UK

This morning, you’ll arrive in Gibraltar. Dominating the mouth of the Mediterranean, Gibraltar is a natural fortress and a little slice of Britain tucked within the borders of Spain. The skyline is dominated by the imposing Rock of Gibraltar, a 426-metre-high limestone promontory. Beneath it winds a network of more than 150 caves and curious troops of Barbary macaques have taken up residence on The Rock’s upper reaches. On the streets below, you can explore dozens of British stores and traditional pubs, and marvel that you’re a stone’s throw away from Spain. Listen out for the local accent, a sing-song mix of English and Spanish, with people often swapping between the two languages mid-sentence. You’ll depart Gibraltar just after lunch, so order a cocktail on the Yacht Club terrace or relax in the Vitality Pool on Deck 10 while you watch the sparkling waters of the Western Mediterranean slip by.

Meals included: (B, L, D)

Day 5 - Almería, Spain

Almería is one of Spain’s hidden gems and you’ll quickly be charmed by the handsome town center, sunny plazas lined with palm trees, exquisite beaches and lively tapas bars. There are a number of interesting museums dotted throughout the town; the Museum of Almería is the archaeological museum and tracks the city’s history through the Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Romans and the Moors. Look out for the impressive, fortified cathedral in the old town – it was originally built to provide a safe haven during attacks by pirates. Treasures of Spain: Costa del Sol & The Balearic Islands Rock of Gibraltar Scenic Eclipse departs Cartagena late this evening, giving you time to explore the city after dark. Wander the brightly lit waterfront and the pedestrian streets that lead off it to join the locals for a drink or a meal at the many welcoming bars and restaurants.

Meals included: (B, L, D)

Day 6 - Cartagena, Spain

Dock right in the heart of one of the world’s greatest natural harbors at Cartagena. A prized location for thousands of years thanks to its water access and the rich mineral deposits that surround it, modern Cartagena surprises and delights. Once inhabited by the Romans, Cartagena is recognized for the wealth of ancient sites in and around the city. Roman murals and mosaics adorn historical villas while late 19th century architecture complements the picturesque Mediterranean coast.

Meals included: (B, L, D)

Day 7 - Alicante, Spain

Wake this morning as you arrive in the city of Alicante, one of Spain’s most popular tourist destinations and the unofficial capital of the Costa Blanca (White Coast). Set on the golden sand beaches and crystal-clear waters of Spain’s east coast, this area is packed with stylish resorts and golf courses. As with much of southern Spain, Alicante was ruled by the Moors for more than 500 years and their influence is still visible throughout the city. It is built around the base of the imposing Moorish fortress of Castillo de Santa Barbara, dating back to the 9th century; climb the hill or take the elevator to explore. El Barrio, the Old Town, also dates to the days of the Moors, and is made up of narrow lanes, colorful houses and cozy plazas, which are now bursting with cafes, bars and restaurants. Soak up the sun with a walk along the beautiful, palm-tree lined Explanada de España.

Meals included: (B, L, D)

Day 8 - Ibiza, Spain

Along with Mallorca, Menorca and Formentera, Ibiza is one of the four main Balearic Islands, a sun-kissed archipelago that sits off the east coast of Spain. It’s known as one of the world’s great party capitals, famed for its beach clubs, busy bars and pumping nightclubs. As you pull into port this morning, you’ll see that there is more to this island than meets the eye. Its beaches are undeniably superb, but you will also discover archaeological sites and tiny, whitewashed villages almost untouched by modern life. Inland, the island is all limestone hills and lush pine forest, home to artisan producers who are creating one-of-a-kind local delights. Ibiza is known for its dazzling sunsets, so grab a seat and a drink at the Sky Bar or Yacht Club Terrace to watch the sky turn orange, red and pink as the ship leaves port.

Meals included: (B, L, D)

Day 9 - Valencia, Spain

Sailing back towards the mainland overnight, you’ll arrive in Valencia this morning. Ask your butler to bring coffee to your suite so you can watch the ship pull into port from your private verandah. Spain’s third-largest city is an inspiring blend of old and new. It has one of the largest historic centers in Europe, with buildings dating back to the 13th century, sitting close to modern architectural gems like the futuristic Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias. Running for more than nine kilometers through the center of the town is the magnificent Turia Garden, a green space that was created by diverting a river in the 1980s. Join the locals riding bikes, playing sport, listening to live music or just relaxing in the sun.

Meals included: (B, L, D)

Day 10 - Barcelona - Disembark

Disembark after breakfast as you farewell the crew and take away memories of a truly unforgettable cruise.

In today’s changing travel environment, it’s important to help protect your travel investment so you can relax and enjoy your trip. ITINERARY

For your reference, we send to you a detailed itinerary approximately 3-4 weeks prior to the scheduled tour departure. This has day-by-day times and events, hotel information where you can be reached in case of an emergency, and airline information.

The times listed on the itinerary are all approximate. We cannot be held responsible for schedule changes due to unforeseen circumstances with the weather, transportation agents, highway conditions, hotels or contracting agents.

AIRLINE TICKETS

You will be issued your boarding pass the morning of our departure, after your arrival at the Tucson International Airport. If you have a frequent flyer number, or a TSA number, please call our office at least 3 days prior to the tour to ensure we can note these in your reservation. If you are joining the tour from locations other than Tucson, we make other arrangements for you to join the tour. Please call our office for more details.

AIRPORT SECURITY

Do not forget to bring your government issued picture ID to show at the airport. A passport is required for travel to Europe. If you do not have the proper ID, the airline will turn you away.

BAGGAGE

We have arranged for handling for one piece of luggage per person regarding the skycaps (where available) and hotels. If you check through luggage note that the maximum weight for the checked piece of luggage is 50 pounds and maximum size is 62 inches (length + width + height). If your bag weighs over 50 pounds the airlines will levy an extra fee that you will be responsible to pay. If you feel the need to lock your checked through luggage and your bag is searched, your lock could be damaged in the process. You can purchase a TSA (Transportation Security Administration) accepted and recognized lock at any luggage store. Make sure you ask for a TSA approved lock. These locks are the kind that TSA screeners can open by using a special tool without breaking. Passengers can carry-on 1 bag (dimensions are limited to 10x16x24 inches), plus a personal type bag, like a purse. We advise that you pack your carry-on lightly. There are restrictions regarding your carryon baggage and contents due to enhanced security measures. If you have further concerns, please visit the TSA's Web-site at www.tsa.gov. There is room inside the motorcoach for your hand carried bag.

CHECKED BAGGAGE FEES

On our preferred airline for this tour, passengers are assessed a fee per checked in bag, by the Airlines, upon checking in for the flight.

EMERGENCY CONTACT

It is always a good idea to carry on your person a list of medications that you are taking and an emergency contact phone number while you are traveling. And we suggest making a copy of the itinerary and provide it to a friend or family member.

GRATUITIES/ITEMS INCLUDED IN PRICE

The traditional end-of-tour gratuity is included on this tour. All hotel porterage and airport skycap (when available) fees are included. We also include the gratuities for the coach/livery drivers. Hotel housekeeping tips are not included. Tips for guides/services on optional excursions or individual on-ship services are not included.

LIVERY

For your convenience, we have a (round-tour) door-to-door pickup service with each multi-day tour. (This service is not available to all clients depending on your location.) Approximately 2 to 3 days prior to the departure date you will receive a call from our office and we will tell you your assigned pickup time. (These times can vary up to 15 minutes depending on traffic.)

LODGING REQUESTS

If you would like to request special accommodations at the hotel(s) where we are lodging, please call us as soon as possible and we will forward these requests for you. The phone numbers of the hotel(s) where we are staying are listed on the itinerary.

Many hotels around the country have instituted a "reconditioning fee" of $300 or more that is levied upon a guest that smokes in a non-smoking room. If this occurs during our tour you will be responsible for paying this fee to the hotel prior to check-out.

TRAVEL REQUESTS

We pay close attention to your requests but please realize that these are merely requests and cannot be guaranteed.

WEATHER AND CLOTHING/MISC. SUGGESTIONS

The weather in Spain in April is generally mild and pleasant, marking the transition from spring to summer, but it can vary significantly depending on the region:

Northern Spain: This region, including cities like Bilbao and Santiago de Compostela, tends to be cooler and wetter. Temperatures range from about 10°C to 15°C (50°F to 59°F), with frequent rain showers.

Central Spain: Inland areas, including Madrid, experience more extreme temperature variations. Days can be warm, with temperatures reaching up to 20°C (68°F), but nights remain cool. Rain is less frequent than in the north.

Southern Spain: Cities like Seville and Malaga enjoy warmer temperatures, ranging from 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F). This region sees more sunny days and less rain, making it a popular destination for early summer tourism.

Eastern and Mediterranean Coast: Areas along the Mediterranean coast, including Barcelona and Valencia, experience mild to warm temperatures, usually between 13°C and 20°C (55°F to 68°F). Rainfall is moderate.

Balearic and Canary Islands: The Balearic Islands (like Mallorca) and the Canary Islands have a Mediterranean and subtropical climate, respectively. Temperatures are mild and pleasant, making them ideal for beach holidays.
