Day 2 - Balloons

We rise early and head out to the Balloon Fiesta grounds where we have passes for the Gondola Club. Here, we can enjoy breakfast.

The Balloon Fiesta begins with a drone show and then the Dawn Patrol begins. The Dawn Patrol is a warm light in the midst of the dark early morning. These first balloons to take off stand out in the dark desert sky as they lift off with their flames ablaze. From our club area we will view hundreds of hot air balloons involved in a mass ascension. The array of color that fills your eyes when these magical balloons lift off is truly amazing! When you think there can’t be anymore balloons, there will be!!

There are several other events that you may like to enjoy such as the many vendors and the Museum of Flight. Following the fiesta, we will head to Old Town to enjoy an independent lunch.

Post-lunch, we gather at a local museum and then return to the hotel for an independent dinner and kickback.

Meals included: (B)

Day 3 - More Balloons!

This morning we visit The Indian Pueblo Cultural Center. From the moment you enter this center you will feel as if you are in an ancient world. The Center houses exhibits all of New Mexico’s nineteen Indian Pueblos. We’ll enjoy lunch at El Pinto Restaurant, one of Albuquerque’s favorite eateries. After, we will take time back at the hotel for a quick break.

We visit the Anderson Abruzzo International Balloon Museum to learn about the worldwide history, science, and art of all types of ballooning.

This evening we will head out to the Fiesta grounds for Dinner in the Gondola Club. This includes dinner, guaranteed seating, private restroom, and patio to enjoy a panoramic view of the Evening Balloon Glow, Fireworks Show, and an Aerial Drone Light Show.  We return to our hotel for a quiet evening.

Guests should be able to climb a set of stairs, walk up or down slight slopes and navigate some uneven terrain or cobblestone.

Visit our Activity Level Ratings page under Plan Your Tour for full information on the ratings system.

For your reference, we send to you a detailed itinerary approximately 3-4 weeks prior to the scheduled tour departure. This has day-by-day times and events and hotel information where you can be reached in case of an emergency.

The times listed on the itinerary are all approximate. We cannot be held responsible for schedule changes due to unforeseen circumstances with weather, transportation agents, highway conditions, hotels or contracting agents.

It is always a good idea to carry on your person a list of medications that you are taking and an emergency contact phone number while you are traveling. And we suggest making a copy of the itinerary and provide it to a friend or family member.

The traditional end-of-tour gratuity to your tour director is not included. If you feel your Tour Director helped you enjoy your tour, we suggest you enclose a gratuity in an envelope and present it individually at the end of the tour. Simply as a guideline, one may consider a per person, per day gratuity of $8.00 per tour guide as an average to be modified by one’s own personal experience. All hotel porterage and airport sky cap (when available) fees are included. We also include the gratuities for the coach/livery drivers.

For your convenience we have a (round-tour) door-to-door pickup service with each multi-day tour. (This service is not available to all clients depending on your location.) Approximately 2 to 3 days prior to the departure date you will receive a call from our office and we will tell you your assigned pickup time. (These times can vary up to 15 minutes depending on traffic.)

If you would like to request special accommodations at the hotel(s) where we are lodging, please call us as soon as possible and we will forward these requests for you. The phone numbers of the hotel(s) where we are staying are listed on the itinerary.

Many hotels around the country have instituted a "reconditioning fee" of $300 or more that is levied upon a guest that smokes in a non-smoking room. If this occurs during our tour you will be responsible for paying this fee to the hotel prior to check-out.

We pay close attention to your requests but please realize that these are merely requests and cannot be guaranteed.
